Surface retention of polyurethane and acrylic coatings on impregnated spruce wood (Picea abies Karst) and comparison with some wood preservatives

نویسندگان

چکیده

The natural spruce wood has low resistance against biological degradation and weather effects, so further protection is required, up to meeting the durability requirements for used in exterior classes. According preservatives standards, coatings as water repellents belong group OS (organic solvent) preservatives. have a water-repellent function, they are not toxic, these advantages make them usable like impregnation material. objective of this work (Picea abies Karst) using “Double vacuum process” with coating material based on polyurethane acrylic isocyanate resins determinate quantity wood. efficiency expressed through retention. retention compared minimal standard prescribed preservatives, most frequently used, namely creosote, copper chrome arsenate (CCA) waterborne copper-rich systems azole (CBA-A, Thanalite E), show applied double process. significantly different from minimum creosote amounts 118 - 149 kg/m3 or 32 38 times higher than recommended CCA CBA-A use. can be successfully purposes. Retrieval of chlorophyll and nitrogen in Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) using imaging spectroscopy

The research evaluated the information content of spectral reflectance (laboratory and airborne data) for the estimation of needle chlorophyll (CAB) and nitrogen (CN) concentration in Norway spruce (Picea abies L. Karst.) needles. To identify reliable predictive models different types of spectral transformations were systematically compared regarding the accuracy of prediction. The results of t...

Effect of debarking water from Norway spruce (Picea abies) on the growth of five species of wood-decaying fungi.

Norway spruce (Picea abies) debarking water is an aqueous extract obtained as waste from the debarking of logs at paper mills. The debarking water contains a mixture of natural compounds that can exhibit diverse biological activities, potentially including fungicidal activity on some species of wood-decaying fungi. Thus, we investigated the growth rates of such fungi on agar plates to which deb...

Performance Characterization of Coatings on Treated-wood

Coating performance is greatly influenced by the properties of the wood substrate. This study was focused on evaluating the performance of coatings on both preservative- and thermally-treated wood. A number of commercially formulated semi-transparent stains Alkyd, Alkyd-Acrylic and PU were applied on four different types of preservative treated and heat-treated wood and their performances were ...

Development in Norway Spruce, Picea abies'

A pulse-treatment of embryos of Picea abies (L.) Karst with cytokinin efficiently and reproducibly induces the coordinate de novo formation of bud primordia from subepidermal cells. The cytokinin treatment also affects the germinative development of the embryo; chloroplast maturation is delayed, and cell elongation is completely suppressed. We have analyzed the protein patterns in developing sp...
